And what makes us different?

1). Difference in the furniture collected.  We pursue better designed furniture in better conditions. So the cost price is a bit higher. Though it is hard for a new starter in this business to see how much of the original furniture is replaced, the difference exists.  And we believe people always appreciate the best preserved antiques with the least replacement.

2). Difference in the workers employed. Experienced restorer with better craftsmanship demands higher salary.

3). We follow strict traditional techniques in restoration. And we are completists in details. Every furniture cleaned is put into parts, rejoined and stabilized. We tried to reserve the original components and patina which is more time-consuming and painstaking than simply making a replacement.

4). We want to do perfect jobs in every procedure. For example, in order to guarantee the floating panels of the cabinet not sticked at both sides by the glue, we wrap the panel with plastic.

5). Now after we have done the woodwork on the furniture, we put every piece in our drying kiln and test the cracking. Thus we will find problems and fix them in time.

6). Materials, labour, and time

In order to reach a satisfying standard of finish, we use many layers of clear natural lacquer which is more expensive than chemical lacquering materials. We will save 300-400RMB on each big cabinet if we use other less good materials.

More materials are used in packing than last year, although commodity prices in China keep arising. Two layer of corrugated paper, one layer of inflated plastic are used for most furniture. And now 3 centimeter thick foam is used for most carved wall panels, screens or any fragile objects.

We took 8 hours to load a 20ft container, just in order to make the best use of the space and to save the freight for customers.

7) Service

The whole company is well organized and fully devoted to our customers:

We are striving to make the fastest move to customer’s request.

We have available the detailed close-ups on each furniture.

We stick a photo on every package.

We prepare lacquer, wood strips and surplus hardware.

We built a drying kiln in a week when there were customers who complained the cracking.

We do the refinishing for free.

We plan to make websites for those customers who need it.

We plan to make Chinese furniture manuals to help our customers to teach their customers.

All in all, we are honestly supplying the best possible antique furniture we can find, doing our best job in restoration, providing our best service, just in faith with the idea “People will appreciate better products and service at reasonable cost”.

We should let our customers know what makes the difference. And people can not differentiate the quality by only the “appearance”.

We are always improving our management systems and executing strict quality control.  We are trying to eliminate all possible troubles before the shipment. And it pays to pay a bit higher price for the least troubles which might be fatal to the reputation of an entity. “We care our reputation as our feather”.
